People nowadays can be so disruptive and have no boundaries in how they refer to others. As a result, if you are excessively bothered or receive unwanted calls, you can block such phone numbers. This feature has been available for a while, and Android, like other smartphone operating systems, has it integrated within the phone app. In this article we will teach you first how to Block a Number and the how to Unblock a Number.

Block a number

  1. Open your Phone app.
  2. Tap More Call history.
  3. Tap a call from the number you want to block.
  4. Tap Block / report spam.

Block unknown numbers

  1. Open your Phone app.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Settings Blocked numbers.
  4. Turn on Unknown.

This will block calls from private or unidentified numbers. You will still receive calls from phone numbers that are not stored in your contacts. 

Remove a Phone Number From the Block List on Your Android Phone

On your Android phone, you must unblock the blocked number if you want to resume receiving calls and texts from it.On the majority of phones, this is quick and simple to do, and we’ll show you how.

How to Unblock a Number from Settings

  1. Open your Phone app.
  2. Tap More.
  3. Tap Settings Blocked numbers.
  4. Next to the number you want to unblock, tap Clear Unblock.

How to Unblock a Number from Call Log

A blocked number or contact in your phone’s call log will have a crossed-out display picture, i.e., a circle with a line through it.

  1. Open your Phone app.
  2. Search contact
  3. Tap on it
  4. Select the Unblock icon
  5. Tap Unblock again on the confirmation prompt

Alternatively, tap the crossed-out display picture, tap the three-dot menu icon, and select Unblock numbers.

Any calls you got from the number while it was blocked won’t show in your call history.

Can I unblock my number from someone else’s phone?

You must have physical access to a person’s phone to unblock your number. So, if you don’t have physical access to a phone, no, you can’t unblock yourself from their phone.
