Talking about Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales immediately takes us back to the moment when Insomniac surprised the world with its groundbreaking Spider-Man game for the PlayStation 4. After all, we’re revisiting a game that’s pretty much an expansion and update of that one. Taking advantage of the power of the new generation of Sony consoles, the PlayStation 5 takes a step further into what already was an incredible superhero experience. Miles Morales’ rise as a new Spider-Man will be experienced also on PC, from 18 November. But let’s dig deeper into this beautiful crime-fighting game.
A nice spin
The story begins right where the other game left us, with two Spider-Man in New York City: Peter Parker and Miles Morales. At this point, Peter is already a veteran in web swinging and fighting crime. Miles is just starting, learning the get-go of the hero duty, and learning how big of responsibility comes with the great power he’s received.
After a great start where they team up to fight Rhino, Peter Parker decides to take a vacation to Europe, leaving Miles Morales alone to protect New York during Christmas. It’s a very simple premise, but it works perfectly and helps give a deep understanding of this character and his social environment, as well as his past. As it could not be otherwise, things gradually get complicated and he is in great danger. This pushes young Miles into maturing into a Spider-Man worthy of the title, but he’s also going to have to find a way to balance it with his personal life.
On the same level?
The story in general lines has not impressed us. We must admit that it is not very important for the saga and does not plant great seeds for the future, serving only the function of Miles Morales’ origin story. We also must acknowledge that we have a very well written game in the same tone as the first Spider-Man.
Even though the narrative itself did not seem to us any wonder, we have to mention that it is not very important for the saga and does not plant great seeds for the future, fulfilling only the function of Miles Morales’ origin story. But we must recognize that in the same tone as the first Spider-Man we have a very well written game. We have different types of bioelectric attacks called poison abilities, with which we can fry enemies and perform powerful combos. As well as a new very useful power that allows us to become invisible, allowing us to clean the scenarios of enemies without being seen, which manages to enhance stealth and make it a little more interesting in this installment. Also, Miles has some additional tools at his disposal to aid him in his fight against crime.
Should you play Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales?
Answering his question is quite EASY. If you played the first game and are a fan of Spider-Man the answer is an obvious YES. This game is a new way to revive the same kind of experience you had when first played the original game. But, if you have not played the first game, we do have to recommend you get the original game first. Not only because Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is pretty much a sequel, but also because the original game has much more content. It also goes more for the classic fans of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
What keeps us playing? The game is simply fun. There aren’t any difficult or boring parts to it. From the moment the game starts, there is no stopping until the end. Every aspect of this game is superb, even the side missions, which are available on the open-world map. Not to mention the beautiful visuals.
We hope this was a little help if you were wondering whether you should play this Amazing game. If you haven’t played the first one, we recommend you buy it first before considering buying this one. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy this game, as we did.
