Krafton, the firm behind PUBG, hopes to create a medium-length epic with its adaptation of the Korean fantasy novel The Bird That Drinks Tears. Although the project is still in its early stages, the business has published a “concept teaser” to offer gamers and spectators an idea of what to expect.

The teaser was created in Unreal Engine 5 and is based on concept art by Iain McCaig, who has previously worked on Star Wars and The Avengers. Krafton is developing a game based on the story and plans to release an art book later this year and a graphic novel in 2023. The multimedia endeavor is currently known as “Project Windless.”
Krafton stated in a press statement that “the visualization project is positioned to drive the aesthetic and tonal directions of multiple multimedia productions based on The Bird That Drinks Tears, including a graphic novel and motion film.”
Last year, Krafton art director Kwang Jae Son linked Project Windless’ ambitions to those of another ongoing fantasy series. “Interestingly, The Witcher video game series was based on the original novels,” Son explained, “yet oddly, the original novel got better recognized to the globe thanks to the game.” “Since then, the IP has been developed as a series and has grown into a global IP that many people adore.” The Witcher is a terrific role model for us in this regard.”
While Krafton is most known for PUBG, Project Windless appears to be part of a larger endeavor to identify the next big thing. In other news, the corporation is experimenting with virtual humans through an avatar named Ana, who recently released a music video.
