The series’ most recent full-length expansions, Downpour, Silent Hill HD Collection, and Silent Hill: Book of Memories, were released in 2012. They were all treated with scorn by fans, thus putting the once-popular series on hold.

However, in 2014, fans began to hope for a comeback. P.T., a terrifying playable demo revealed by Konami, was confirmed to be a new Silent Hill game. The project was canceled after director Hideo Kojima left the company, shattering supporters’ hopes.

Both Konami in Japan and third-party business Bloober Team have recently stated that the franchise is being revived. Silent Hill: A Short Message, a Silent Hill game that, like P.T, is believed to be a playable demo, has also been registered in South Korea. Last night, Silent Hill’s official Twitter account claimed that fresh information about the franchise would be shared soon.

In your restless dreams, do you see that town?

The latest updates for the SILENT HILL series, will be revealed during the #SILENTHILL Transmission on Wednesday, October 19th, at 2:00 PM. PDThttps://t.co/8Knoq9xYsa

A ‘Silent Hill Transmission’ will be broadcast on a website dedicated to the announcement. Those who want to watch it must first provide their location and birth date. While there is no official age classification for the teaser, prior Silent Hill games have been labeled for persons aged 18 and over owing to the brutality and gore. This is probably why the website requires users to enter their age before viewing the upcoming announcement.

FAQ

When will the broadcast begin?

The Silent Hill Transmission will be available on Konami.com on October 19 at 2 p.m. PT. There haven’t been any other links to other video sites like YouTube or Twitch, so it appears that the presentation will only be available on Konami’s own website.

Silent Hill is a survival horror game released in 1999 by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and created by Team Silent. The first game in the Silent Hill series, it was released for the PlayStation from February through July of this year.
